Refer to the IP-DECT Wireless Solution (Global) documentation on the Mitel Customer Documentation web site for system information, supported features, site planning details, and instructions on how to install and program the system.
You license the IP-DECT handsets the within MiVoice Business the same as you license any other SIP devices. The handsets require an IP User License and must be registered with MiVoice Business, which acts as the registrar. Once registration is completed, SIP devices can make and receive calls.
Calling Waiting must be enabled on the base station to provide proper incoming call handling when the handset is busy (see the IP-DECT Wireless System Base Station Installation Guide on Document Center for programming instructions). Without Calling Waiting, the second call is rejected and redirected to the Call Forward - Forced destination provisioned for the base station. If no forwarding is in effect, the caller hears busy tone and may camp on. The camp on, however, is interpreted as a second call to an unavailable line, which results in out of service treatment.
To program the 5603/5613 and 5604/5614 Wireless Handsets, follow the procedure for programming a SIP generic device. Refer to the IP-DECT Base Station Installation and Operation guide for additional details.
